What educators are saying

This was a project that I used in my math class during our Geometry unit and my students had a lot of fun. I enjoyed watching them challenge themselves!
I LOVED watching the kids work in groups to complete this. We spent several days working on our towns and they did great. They really had to test their knowledge of angles and shapes.

Description

Students will create a town map made of different geometric figures. They will demonstrate their knowledge of parallel and perpendicular lines, acute and obtuse angles, geometric shapes as well as many other geometric concepts through this creative and fun project.

This project can be adapted to higher level geometry courses and high school classes. You can add parameters to the geometric shaped buildings (ex. must label the dimensions of the building given a certain area or perimeter).
