What educators are saying

My students loved using this for morning work. They earned credit towards games when they both answered questions quickly and accurately.

Description

After spending a lot of time at a school with lousy grading software, I set about creating my own gradebook in Excel. Over time, I added new features and now, after countless hours of tinkering, I think it's better than most of the premium subscription-based gradebooks out there.

Overview of features:

- Up to five weighted grading categories (e.g., participation, homework, tests)

- Accurate calculations--even when, for example, there is a category with no scores entered yet

- Codes for absent, exempt, extended deadline, incomplete, received but not graded, etc.

- Generate progress reports for individual classes or students in Excel

- Use mail merge (with Microsoft Word) to batch print or email progress reports

- Post detailed grade reports to Google Classroom using some clever workarounds

- Ability to set a non-0% value for assignments marked missing or incomplete

- New: Includes an additional version that outputs grades on a 4-point scale rather than as a percent, for those of you that need it

- Detailed user guide included

Note: For the desktop version of Microsoft Excel 2013 or later. Some advanced features may not work properly with older versions.
