Each article is one page and features an illustration and key vocabulary.
* There is an interactive notebook flip book for each article.
* There is a worksheet with comprehension questions to accompany each article.
* A two page comprehensive assessment is also included (20 questions).
* Answer keys are included for quick and easy grading.
Ideas for using this Resource -
You can use the articles to teach key concepts or have students read them independently as a review and then complete the accompanying comprehension sheets.
You can print the reading passages and questions front and back for students to keep in a binder or folder, or you can print them to use in interactive science notebooks.
I like to shrink the articles down on the copier to 85% so that my students can paste them into their science notebooks. Then, as we read them together, we can take interactive notes. The students can highlight and annotate right on the reading passage! Then, we create the flipbook in our interactive science notebooks. Finally, I use the questions to assess for understanding.
The question pages are great for classwork, morning work, or homework! They are great for daily grades too!
These articles and worksheets are also great to leave for a substitute teacher! You can also print and send this unit home for distance learning or at home learning.
