Description
10 Famous Masterpiece Coloring Pages. Whether you are an art teacher, classroom teacher, or homeschooling family, I hope this resource will be helpful to you as you teach your students about famous master artists and their famous artworks.
This resource includes the 10 coloring pages, a complete slide show, and 3 writing activities!
Maybe you are looking for something meaningful students can color after a project or something that supports your work teaching art history. No matter the reason, I hope you are able to easily adapt this resource and use it to support your needs.
INCLUDED IN THIS RESOURCE
>>>>>10 famous masterpieces included.<<<<<
- The Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci
- American Gothic by Grant wood
- The Scream by Edvard Munch
- Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer
- The Frame by Frida Kahlo
- Composition with Red Blue and Yellow by Piet Mondrian
- Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh
- The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali
- Four Cupcakes by Wayne Thiebaud
- The Great Wave off Kanagawa
Consider letting your students use different mediums like crayons, colored pencils, or markers. If you can print the pages on thicker paper, older children could also paint the masterpieces.
Each coloring page is inside a blank frame that students can color and cut out along the outside edges. When your students are finished coloring the masterpiece, you might consider hanging them up on a bulletin board to create a gallery of famous artwork!
3 Writing Activities:
I have included 3 activities you can use along with these coloring pages.
1. The first is called “Show what you know.” These are cards (4 to a page for easy copying) that your students can fill out about the artwork they color. You can have them research to find the answers or use the slide show I’ve provided.
2. The second activity is an opinion writing piece. Students often wonder why certain artworks are famous - let them talk about that and give their opinion about the famous artworks.
3. Lastly, have your students create acrostic poems using some of the words from the names of these masterpieces. Use one or all of these activities with your students to enhance their experience.
Slide Show:
I have included a slide show in this resource you can show to your students. Simply project this PDF onto your whiteboard and click through the slides to show your students the famous masterpieces. You can also use it as a teaching aid to teach your students the “fast facts” of each artwork. You can see a sample of the slides in the preview file.
