Description

This sketch-notes worksheet is designed to be used to identify key paintings and life

events of artist Faith Ringgold, social activist artist, and Tar Beach author. A traditional PDF with hotlinks, teacher instructions, and Google Slide Presentation for distance learning is included. It is intended to be used as a web-quest activity or in combination with another lesson.

This project aligns with visual art, visual literacy, informational texts, biography research, nonfiction, and art history.

Please note: Artists often lead difficult and sometimes troubled lives. I have given teachers the ability to edit this lesson as necessary, but please research the artist and make sure you are ok with students learning sometimes unfortunate events before purchasing. Because although I have done my best to choose a video and websites that are safe for children, I don't control history and can't change or soften it for you.
