What educators are saying

My first graders are in love with doing plays and this product was perfect for having them practice reading a play and reading in general.
My students loved the Readers Theater and really enjoyed creating their own character. I was really able to assess their confidence growing as a reader as we presented the different plays to other classes. This was great for our dramatic unit! Thank you for creating this resource!

Description

This fairy tale resource has a ton of fun activities for your students. This resource includes a fairy tale reader’s theater scripts or use as a play for Princess and the Pea, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Hansel and Gretel. This resource has many different activities that meet the common core including writing.

The plays or scripts can be used many different ways, keep them in a center, or use for guided reading instruction with an emphasis on fluency and expression. Children love to act out the parts and rereading the parts is great fluency and expression practice.

The puppets or name tags are ready to be cut out and come in color and in black and white. Apply a ruler, stick or tongue depressor to the back of the characters and they will be all ready for your students to put on great puppet plays or reader’s theater for each other.

Print on white cardstock for durability.

Easy enough for first graders to read,

Princess and the Pea play has 5 speaking parts.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff play has 5 speaking parts.

Hansel and Gretel play has 6 speaking parts.

Other activities included in this packet include:

-Sequencing the story where students cut sentences apart and put together in the right sequence.

-Activity sheets where students will write the lesson learned in the story.
