    Description

English Desk Tags - Student Reference for Fiction, Poetry, Nonfiction, and Drama: Desk tags are no longer just for elementary students! These ready-to-use English desk tags are the perfect reference for your middle or high students during your short story, novel, poetry, nonfiction, and drama units. All you have to do is laminate, cut out, and attach the tags to each of your students' desks. Then, during the units when students inevitably begin asking you questions like, "What is a soliloquy?", "What are the types of conflict?", "How do you analyze a poem", or "What is a thesis statement again?" you can simply direct them to the desk tags in front of them for the answers!

Included in This English Student Reference Desk Tags Bundle:

➡️ Poetry Desk Tag: Included on this desk tag are poetry terms and definitions (stanza types, rhyme scheme, meter etc.), a list of poetry types (acrostic, ballad, elegy, haiku, sonnet etc.), a list of figurative language with definitions (alliteration, oxymoron, personification, pun, symbol etc.), and tips for analyzing poetry (literary devices, poetic form, interpretation of theme etc).

➡️ Nonfiction Desk Tag: Included on this desk tag are non-fiction terms and definitions (index, captions, primary source, bias etc.), a list of non-fiction types with examples (narrative, expository, persuasive, descriptive etc.), a list of non-fiction elements/devices with definitions (point of view, anecdote, allusion, tone, satire etc.), and tips for analyzing non-fiction (examining text features, author's purpose, credibility etc).

➡️ Fiction Desk Tag: Included on this desk tag are fiction terms and definitions (character, setting, theme etc.), a list of fiction genres (adventure allegory, bildungsroman etc.), a list of fiction literary devices with definitions (foreshadowing, mood, irony, symbolism etc.), and tips for analyzing fiction (short stories & novels).
