Description

This resource explains what Auditory Fatigue is and how it affects our Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and their learning. The handout also discusses how to spot auditory fatigue in children of all ages and what educators can do to prevent it from happening. There are other reminders at the bottom of the hand out.

Use this in an in-service/consult to inform teachers about the extra effort DHH kids put into listening and how it will affect them. There is a visual aid for the cycle of fatigue that can be used to simply explain how auditory fatigue happens.
