Economics Short Story: The Boys of Brooklyn Head South

This is a short story about a group of Union soldiers in a civil war camp who are faced with economic decisions and challenges. They must somehow develop a way to raise money for a new baseball, a camp past time favorite. They soon discover the power of scarcity, demand and productivity. Topics covered include: Impact of increased productivity, opportunity cost, the influence of price incentives, and the benefits of specialization. There are two sets of leveled questions.
