What educators are saying

This was a great assignment! I didn't pair it with a book, but I had my students create a survival story and complete it. Thank you for a good assignment that helps me meet my standards :)
I loved this unit, and so did my students! Anything that we can do that is hands on, I am all for it. Instructions were very easy to follow, and students made connections easily. Next year I'd like to try collaborating with our STEM teacher. This is a great start!

Here's what hands-on teachers like you are saying:

❤️What a fun way to teach process writing. This is great, especially considering the famous "How To" paper is one of the first writing assignments many college students complete for Eng Comp. classes.

❤️ Our school is large on STEAM/STEM activities. Our principal has asked that teachers do at least one STEAM activity in our classes once a month. I teach middle school ELA and the pickings are slim for STEAM activities for ELA.... They created their shelters and wrote the procedures. It was great for ELA because students needed to write well-explained step-by-step procedures for their shelters.
