What educators are saying
I am using this resource as a parent guide to help them work with their children when they have free time!
Description
Includes Assessment Sheets and Word Lists for the following Dolch words:
Pre-Primer
Primer
1st Grade
2nd Grade
3rd Grade
Nouns
Mastering sight words is essential to becoming a good reader!
This set includes the Dolch sight word lists that I teach my Kindergarten students every year. Dolch words are among the most common words and nouns that can be found in children’s books. I start out by helping students master the Pre-Primer Dolch words first and then move on to the next list as they master or nearly master each list. Many of my students are reading at a 2nd grade level when they leave Kindergarten! This set includes both color and black & white lists that you can pass out to parents as well as assessment sheets that you can mark on and total your students' progress throughout the year. I recommend sending the master list(s) home with students about once a month as a friendly reminder to parents to practice these words at home. Assess the students on their sight word knowledge at least quarterly.
I also have a progress chart hanging up in the classroom that visually shows each student how many sight words he/she knows. This encourages students to learn even more sight words as they really want to see their progress go up on the chart!
Good luck!
