What educators are saying

I have been using this resource with my 6th grader online. I have used the task cards and they have been great practice in working with rational numbers .

Description

Looking for a way to get your middle school math students to compare and order positive rational numbers? In this activity, students will use their knowledge of whole numbers, fractions (proper and improper), mixed numbers, decimals, and percents to answer the questions on 20 task cards ( Please note: knowledge of exponents is also required for this activity). More specifically, students will…

• Determine which value is farthest to the left or right when a set of numbers is plotted on the number line

• Identify the largest or smallest value in a number set

• Determine whether or not various numbers are greater than or less than a given value

• Determine whether or not a number is within a certain range

• Determine whether or not a number is outside a certain range

• Arrange a list of numbers from least to greatest

• Arrange a list of numbers from greatest to least

There are so many ways to use task cards in the classroom. I have included a few of my favorite ways to use them in the preview of this product, but feel free to use the cards however you would like!

This resource has 20 task cards (4 per page), a 2-page student activity sheet, and an answer key! Check out the preview to see EVERY question in this resource.
