Description

The objective of this Characters, Characterization Development and Archetypes complete teaching pack is to foster students' beginning or basic understanding of how an author uses details to "paint a picture" of a character throughout a text.

Student Experience: The lesson slideshow paints the concept and terms, the task cards allow students the chance to practice their skills on authentic text, and the creative body biography activity allows students to show their comprehension of this skill in the text you are studying. Then the constructed response prompts are an excellent assessment option and could be used again and again throughout the year.

Included in this pack:

-a lesson plan with standards and suggestions

- a PPT and Google version of the slideshow that blends and connects the concepts of how and why others choose characters and develop characterization

- student notes worksheet for use during slideshow

- constructed response prompts for use with any text

-Built-In Terms Review Game

-Body Biography Instructions and a blank form for creation

-Student Samples of the Bios

-Task Cards for Hands-On Practice

-Colorization Chart for Symbolism

-Constructed Response Prompts

-Characters and Characterization Quick Terms Quiz

This lesson would work very well for the ELA classroom at various levels given your choices of texts, etc. Since there are several components to this teaching pack, you could pick what you needed or use the entire plan. It is editable and flexible.
