Character Traits Visuals & Activities

What educators are saying
Description
As a speech teacher, I realized that many of my special education students, especially those with Autism, struggle with identifying character traits. This is often because they do not know what the words mean, struggle with using text evidence, have difficulty making an inference, etc. The reasons are endless! I created these activities for my students to practice identifying character traits through a variety of methods.
Included are:
- 20 character trait cards with an illustration and definition (+3 blank cards)*
- 20 short paragraph task cards describing a character (with an answer key!)
- Practice characterization worksheet (great to use as homework)
- 2 synonyms & antonyms graphic organizers
- 2 character traits graphic organizers
*I printed, cut, and laminated the picture cards to use as visuals during my lessons and have also used them as a word bank for the task cards. When my students are stuck trying to find the right words to describe their character, they often refer to the cards.
*As per the suggestion of an individual's feedback, I included two definitions for brave (someone who is not afraid AND someone who faces their fears).
Hope you enjoy! :)
All graphics included were designed and illustrated by me! :)
Feedback will be greatly appreciated!
