What educators are saying

Visuals help bring ancient history alive for students. I am always appreciative of the work done by others that goes into creating them so I don't have to.

Description

Students will learn about the exciting history of the Paleolithic cave paintings in Lascaux, France. This would be a good lesson to use when studying France or when making cave art reproductions. Included is:

-a map of the location
-visual examples of cave painting
-historical photographs and information on how the caves were discovered in 1940
-a description of why the cave paintings are deteriorating today and what art restorers are doing about it
-pictures of Lascaux II
-fun facts
-techniques and materials the Paleolithic artists used

**I have personally visited the Lascaux II caves while studying art abroad in France.**
