What educators are saying

These are great for my students. They know what to expect in the morning and they are doing great with them!
great resource for students with developmental delays and those on the spectrum. Easy to use, and engaging!

Description

Do you have students that are not ready to complete binder activities? Do you have students not participating to their fullest capacity during morning circle/meeting? Do you have students that struggle with task completion? Do you have students that struggle with basic matching skills? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the morning circle/meeting binder for your classroom!

Binder activities are so wonderful for students, but not all students are ready to complete them due to: poor scanning skills, poor discrimination skills, poor matching skills, inability to complete a multiple-step task, etc. This binder includes 3 levels so that students can practice ALL of these skills with just ONE binder each morning!

Level 1: Students are working on moving a single icon to the next page from a field of one. Students are removing the picture on the left, to moving it to the empty spot on the right. This level is ERRORLESS! This level also teaches students to put an icon on a designated location, which will, in turn, assist them to later complete more complex binders, task cards, etc.

Level 2: Students are working on moving a single icon to the next page from a field of two (the second picture is a blank icon). Students must select the icon with a picture on it and move it to the proper location on the right. This level builds on the previous level, but this level introduces scanning and discrimination. We want to make sure students are looking at the icons and selecting the one with the image.

Level 3: Students are working on moving a single icon to a the next page from a field of two (The second picture is a different icon of the same category. For example, if the student is matching/identifying fall, the second icon may be a winter.) Students must discriminate between the two icons and select the correct icon to move to the proper location on the next page. If duplicate icons on printed, students can be shown the identical icon to begin to start matching from a field of two.

You will set up this binder once, and it can be used to work on all three levels. Set-up directions are included in the product.

There are 6 topics included:

*My name is...

*Today is...

*The month is...

*The number for today's date is...

*The season is...

*The weather is...

All required pictures are included. If you are using the "My name is page...", you will print one of the blank squares, glue the students picture in that space, and laminate the page. You can still use this set the same way you would the others- with a blank icon (for level two) and then another peer's picture (for level 3).

**There are various options included for all of the images.

1. Clipart images

2. Boardmaker Images

3. ASL images

Images for Fall AND Autumn are included!

In addition, there are 2 options for December included- one that relates to the holidays and one that relates to the winter season.

What is Needed?

-A mini binder (8 1/2 x 5 1/2)

This binder can also be used to help students work on task completion (learning that once they finish one page, they need to turn the page and begin working on the second page) or as a pre-requisite skill for using various morning circle binders.

There are also cover options for: boy/girl, non-gender-specific, color and printer-friendly.
