Description
The basics for teaching students how to document their sources when doing research are the basis of this file, as per Common Core State Standards, "Writing" #8
A mini-lesson on narrowing subjects down to specific ideas to research is included.
This also contains teacher board notes, similar instruction handouts with questions for students, a style sheet with examples from a variety of sources, and a worksheet for use during a library trip.
I've added a short, two page tutorial on paraphrasing.
Two puzzles for early finishers are included also.
Works well with both individual student seat work or with learning groups.
