This resource contains 21 reading passages with open-ended questions for students to practice finding evidence within a text. {This is a combo of Finding Text-Based Evidence in Reading Passages, Part 1 & Part 2}

Each question is labeled with the standard it relates to. Test-based stems were used to create the questions. This product can be used to challenge students to "search the text", to find evidence for their answers, build stamina with reading response, to answer in complete sentence, and to use testing strategies (such as marking paragraphs, summarizing paragraphs in the margins in one sentence or less, putting the question in the answer, etc.).

I have found success using these passages in my small groups especially. This could be a resource for high first graders or as a third-grade interventions as well. I hope you find them helpful in your classroom!
