Description
This resource gets your students thinking about the different types of angles, by identifying, measuring and drawing the correct angles from the instructions given to them on the task cards. Acute, right, obtuse, and straight angles are used in this resource.
Students will need a pencil, ruler, and protractor to complete this activity.
This resource includes:
• Minds-On Task – this page can be used as a diagnostic, entrance slip, or a full group introduction to the task. I like to do this page with the whole group, projecting it so all can see, then letting the students work on individual whiteboards or their notebooks to answer the task.
• 12 Task Cards – these task cards make a great math station or partner activity, or you can also project each card and have students work on whiteboards for a full group activity or exit slip after a lesson. I like to use these to set up a math station with the task cards and have students answer on the provided recording sheet for an easy formative assessment for you.
• Answer Page – students can self-check their answers during math stations, or you can use the page for more formal checks. The best part about the answer page is that it is a perfect match to the student recording page. Simply place the student recording page on top of the answer page in front of a window, or another light surface, so you can easily mark the recording page without having to measure each angle.
