2 Games - Reading Informational and Reading Literature
Literary questions include major and minor events, characterization, inferences, citing evidence, genre, theme, setting, point of view, vocabulary, figurative language, and more.
Informational text questions include inferences, citing evidence, author’s purpose and perspective, central or main idea, vocabulary, key details, compare and contrast, author’s claim, type of structure, and more.
Buyer note - these passages are very similar to the 6th and 7th grade literature and informational bundle. They have been modified to include increased difficulty of the sentence structure, advanced vocabulary, and longer length with additional information. The close reading questions have been modified to align with the complexities of the 8th grade Common-Core Standards.
This product is perfect for class-wide close reading, assessments, guided reading groups, or even homework. Your students must refer to the text and cite textual evidence of their understanding.
Why am I qualified to write these passages and close reading activities? Not only have I worked as a Language Arts Teacher for 30 years with a Highly Qualified Status, but I also have spent the last 15 years writing state and national assessments, such as the SATs, ACTs, and individual state assessments that align with the Common-Core standards. This includes grading, item writing, and passage writing for these assessments.
